About Dave

My background in Internet marketing and Web development started in the mid-90s. Few understood the new medium and fewer foresaw its potential impact on individuals, companies, markets, and society as a whole. I set out to combine my passions for design, marketing and emerging technologies to provide guidance in the new media paradigm. I started Propeller Media Works in ’97 to identify the goals of the organization and the audience, and bring the two together online. That mission continues today, and is supported by veteran team of Internet marketers, designers and developers.

I love to plan. I love digital tools, communities and marketing – the medium is so organic and interactive. I love the speed of evolution. I try to connect the dots and see the trends to guide our partners down the best path. The challenge is that the dots are all moving. Change is the only constant.

Accommodating constant change requires an organic approach. “Continuous evolution” is my mantra and it serves as my tool for managing constant change. It keeps me looking for better solutions for our clients.

I like to move between the strategic and tactical levels. I’m very involved in the process and I love rolling up the sleeves and mucking around – especially in the online marketing and analytics tools. As I explore, I’m looking for new solutions to solve partner’s pains, and provide both revenue opportunities and operational cost savings.

Strategic vision, hands-on exploration, and an incredible team of veterans by my side all combine to serve our clients very well.

Current Obsession: Social Marketing
Companies who ignore social media are missing an opportunity and are creating a liability for themselves. It serves as the tipping point of a paradigm shift between a time when the conversation was one-way and companies defined the brand, and a time when the conversation is two-way and the customer defines the brand.

Hi Dave — Just a thank you for your generosity on 4/20/08 in the parking lot at Stowe. It was an absolutely spectacular day only to be finished by your kindness and giving to all around you. You definitely left an impression on me and I am now familiar with Propeller’s work. I also saw the announcement today of Propeller winning FOUR awards at the Horizon Interactive Awards!! Congrats!!! Again, thanks for your generosity and I hope we cross paths again. Laurie Hill
